10 May 2010 - Rainbow Rose, the LGBT network and observer member of the PES welcomes the Resolution 1728 (2010) on “Discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity” adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on the 29th of April 2010. Rainbow Rose is proud that this resolution has been adopted on the ground of the report prepared by delegate Andreas GROSS, a member of the Swiss Socialist Party and an associate member of the PES.

9 February 2010 - Yesterday, February 8th, 2010, the first public session of Rainbow Rose Portugal took place in Xapitô, Lisboa, with Gonçalo Clemente Silva from Rainbow Rose Portugal, Anna Paola Concia, Member of Parliament from the Partito Democratico Italiano, Duarte Cordeiro, Member of Parliament from the Partido Socialista Portugal and Michael Leiblfinger, Co-Coordinator of the executive committee of Rainbow Rose, as speakers.

9 February 2010 - Rainbow Rose Portugal was founded in early 2010 thanks to the action of members of the Portuguese Socialist Party (PS) and its youth organisation (JS).
Rainbow Rose Portugal intends to fight for LGBT equal rights, building on the policy of the PS government. |

Last Friday (8 January) was an historical day in Portugal. The Portuguese Parliament passed a law that will allow gay couples to marry. This law, approved with the votes of all the left, takes down the discriminatory measures that were still in place in the Portuguese legislation when regarding the marriage laws.

4 January 2010 - As the 2009 Congress of the Party of European Socialists (PES) was about to close in Prague in December 2009, Rainbow Rose and our delegate to relations with Eastern Europe, Lukasz Palucki, had the pleasure to launch a groundbreaking report on the situation of LGBT people in Eastern Europe.
On behalf of Rainbow Rose, Lukasz has been developing a unique networking of LGBT activists and social-democrats, from Poland to Belarus and Ukraine, thanks also to the cultural ties between these three (...) |
