Please follow our Community Guidelines

The following Guidelines are to be followed in every digital and analog plattform organised and hosted by Rainbow Rose:

1. Respect for Everyone

Every member has the right to participate in this group without fear of intimidation, harassment or abuse. Members are expected to treat one another with courtesy, respect and dignity at all times.

2. Zero Tolerance for Discrimination & disinformation

Discrimination, intimidation or hateful behaviour directed towards any person or group on the grounds of ethnicity, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, language, religion or belief, disability, neurodivergence, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, sex characteristics, membership of the Traveller or Roma community, or any other protected characteristic will not be tolerated. The same rule applies for intentional disinformation about these individuals.

3. A Safe Space for Discussion

Rainbow Rose is committed to maintaining this group as a safe space where members can exchange ideas, ask questions and discuss issues affecting LGBTQ+ communities across Europe without fear of personal attack.

4. Debate Ideas, Not People

Healthy political discussion and respectful disagreement are encouraged.

Members may robustly debate political ideologies, public policy, legislation, governments and political parties. However, criticism must focus on ideas, actions and policies, not on personal attacks against individual members of the group or other individuals.

Personal abuse, insults, intimidation, ridicule or attempts to undermine another person’s character have no place in this community.

5. Respect Political Diversity

Rainbow Rose brings together organisations representing a broad range of political traditions and viewpoints. Members should engage with one another in good faith and recognise that differing political perspectives are both expected and valued.

6. No Bullying or Harassment

Bullying, harassment, stalking, persistent unwanted contact, threats or other inappropriate behaviour towards any member will not be tolerated.

7. Sharing Sensitive Content

When discussing discrimination, violence, hate speech or other sensitive issues, members should carefully consider whether sharing graphic or explicit material is necessary. Please be mindful that reproducing hateful language or imagery may be distressing to others.

8. Legal Proceedings

Discussion of legal matters is permitted. However, members should exercise caution when discussing ongoing legal proceedings and be mindful of the laws and legal restrictions that may apply in different jurisdictions.

9. Respect Privacy

Members should not share screenshots, messages or personal information from this group outside the group without the permission of those involved, except where required by law or where safeguarding concerns make disclosure necessary.

10. Moderation

Rainbow Rose believes in light-touch moderation.

Where a guideline is breached, moderators will normally contact the member privately to explain the concern and seek to resolve the issue informally. In most cases this will be sufficient.

However, moderators may remove messages, temporarily suspend participation or remove a member from the group where there is a serious or repeated breach of these guidelines, or where continued participation would undermine the safety or purpose of the group.

The decision of the moderators, acting on behalf of Rainbow Rose, is final.

11. Ownership of the Group

This WhatsApp group is owned, administered and maintained by Rainbow Rose.

Participation in the group is conditional upon acceptance of these Community Guidelines. Rainbow Rose reserves the right to appoint moderators, amend these guidelines when necessary, and determine who may participate in the group.
